A Conservation Project in Baja California Sur, Mexico

Welcome to Campaña Agua de la Sierra.

We represent a coalition of local ranchers, conservationists, and educators committed to securing financial and technical resources to advance conservation and sustainability efforts in the Agua de la Sierra region.

Our Mission

  • Protect and restore the biodiversity of the Agua de la Sierra ecosystem.

  • Facilitate sustainable use of the region’s natural resources.

  • Promote educational opportunities on the socioeconomic benefits of water conservation.

  • Support sustainable economic development by collaborating with local rancheros

  • Explore alternative revenue streams that integrate conservation with traditional ranching practices.

Campaña Agua de la Sierra (Water of the Sierra campaign) aims to restore and enhance Sierra de la Laguna’s natural landscape through the promotion of sustainable development while safeguarding it’s precious ecosystem. We believe in fostering a harmonious relationship between humans and nature. Through education, research, and community engagement, we strive to inspire environmental stewardship and create a legacy of conservation that transcends borders and generations. Our dedication to biodiversity conservation is demonstrated through our partnership with UCAS - Union de Conservación Agua de la Sierra (Union for the Conservation of the Water of the Mountains) - a coalition of local ranchers and conservationists committed to implementing sustainable land management practices.

Building on the efforts of Rancho Encinalito, our mission is to help UCAS become a beacon of biodiversity conservation and environmental stewardship in the Sierra de la Laguna region. We are committed to protecting and preserving the natural reserve at Rancho Encinalito and expanding those efforts in the region for current and future generations to enjoy.

Join us in our efforts to protect, preserve, and nurture the natural heritage of Baja California Sur.
